In short
For a freelancer, Devdwell replaces the folder of projects, the list of hosting logins and the “which version is live?” guesswork with one dashboard. Each client’s site has its own card, its own tab for changes and its own sharing, so a client only ever sees their site.
The week Devdwell is built for
A florist wants Saturday hours on the footer. A dentist wants a new photo. A café wants last month’s menu gone. None of these is hard; the time goes on finding the right project, remembering how it’s published and checking you didn’t break anything. Devdwell takes out those steps.
How it fits your work
- One dashboard for every client. See at a glance which sites are live, which have changes waiting and which need attention. Put clients in folders. See the dashboard.
- Small changes in minutes. Open the site, describe the change or click the part you mean, and watch the preview. How editing works.
- Staging links for approval. Publish to a private link, send it to the client, and put it live when they say yes. Staging vs production.
- Clients see their own site only. Invite a client to their site with “Can edit” so they can make their own small changes while you keep publishing. Share with a client.
- Work from anywhere. Your sites sync between your computers, and you can check in or ask for a change from your phone. Sync.
Bring in the sites you already look after
Import each client’s site from its folder or a downloaded file. Devdwell works on a copy, so the original stays as it was, and the site gets a card with its live status. Import guide.
When the job ends
Your work is ordinary website files. Hand them over, or remove the client from the site in Devdwell. There are no shared passwords to change. How to hand off a site.
Questions
Can my clients edit their own site?
Yes. Invite them by email with “Can edit” and they can make changes in the web app or desktop app, while you decide when to publish. Choose “Can edit and publish” if they should put changes live themselves.
Will clients see my other clients’ sites?
No. Each person you invite sees only the site you shared with them.
Can I import sites I built in other tools?
Yes, if you can get the site as files: a folder or a downloaded file. Devdwell gets it ready on a copy.
