In short
For a web designer, the work after launch is small changes, many times: a new photo, a price, a holiday notice. Devdwell turns each one into a few minutes: open the site’s card, say what should change, check it in the live preview, send the client a staging link, publish.
The part of the job nobody quotes for
Launching a site is a project. Looking after it is a stream of small requests that arrive at bad times. Most of the cost isn’t the change itself; it’s finding the right folder, remembering how this site gets published, and checking that last month’s edit went live. Devdwell removes that overhead. Every site you’ve built is a card on one dashboard with its address, a picture of it, when it was last published and whether changes are waiting.
Small changes, done properly
Open a site in a tab and it sits beside a live preview. Describe the change in plain words (“make the booking button coral and move it above the fold”) or click the part of the page you mean. Check it at desktop, tablet and phone sizes. Several sites can be open at once, each in its own tab, so a morning of client requests doesn’t mean a morning of switching projects. See editing.
Sign-off without screenshots
Clients approve changes better when they can click around. Publish to staging and you get a private link with the change on it, while the live site stays as it is. When the client says yes, publish to production. The publish panel has both side by side; see staging vs production.
Give clients their site, not your accounts
Type a client’s email to share one site with them. They see that site and nothing else, as “Can edit” (you decide when it goes live) or “Can edit and publish”. They sign in with their own email and password, so you never hand over a hosting login. When a project ends, removing them is one click. See how to share a website with a client.
Requests from your phone
When a client messages on a Saturday, open the web app on your phone, pick their site and type the change. One of your computers makes it and sends back a picture; publish if it looks right, or leave it for Monday.
Bring the sites you already have
Import any site you have as files, a folder or a zip, whatever you built it with. Devdwell prepares it on a copy and adds it to your dashboard. See import an existing website.
Questions
Is Devdwell a website builder?
No. It’s where the sites you build live afterwards: a dashboard, editing with a live preview, publishing with staging, and sharing per site. You can start new sites in it too, but it doesn’t replace your design tool.
Can my clients change their own site?
Yes. Invite them with “Can edit” and they can describe changes in the desktop or web app, while you decide when to publish. Choose “Can edit and publish” if they should put changes live themselves.
Do clients need to install anything?
No. Clients can use the web app in any browser, including on their phone.
Will a client see my other projects?
No. Each person you invite sees only the sites you shared with them.
